Bedell proudly served again as a sponsor of A Supreme Evening 2026, the Florida Supreme Court Historical Society’s premier judicial gathering of the New Year, held January 22 in Tallahassee. The event brought a sold-out audience of 450 justices, judges, and Florida Bar members, legislators, and guests from across the state to reflect on the rule of law and the nation’s constitutional foundations during a milestone year in American history.

Former president of the Society, Hank Coxe once again served as emcee—marking his 15th year in the role. His steady leadership, enduring commitment, and sense of humor have helped shape A Supreme Evening into one of Florida’s most anticipated legal and civic events.

The evening featured a fireside chat between Justice Charles T. Canady and New York Times best-selling author and renowned historian Dr. Allen C. Guelzo, whose scholarship on American history and Abraham Lincoln offered a timely perspective as the nation approaches the 250th anniversary of the Declaration of Independence. The program also included Chief Justice Carlos G. Muñiz’s annual State of the Court address and the Chief Justice’s farewell to Justice Canady.

Held at the FSU Dunlap Champions Club, A Supreme Evening 2026 underscored the Florida Supreme Court Historical Society’s mission to preserve the history of Florida’s highest court and educate the public about the judicial system. Support from sponsors like Bedell Law Firm helps ensure the continued success of this vital work and the enduring impact of the Society’s signature event.
