“The Brain Defense: Murder in Manhattan and the Dawn of Neuroscience in America’s Courtrooms” was written by Kevin Davis in 2017. This book explores the perplexing story of Herbert Weinstein, who was being indicted for murder. Weinstein strangled his wife and then threw her body from the window of their high-rise apartment allegedly to make her death appear to be suicide. Davis uses this case to present a deeply researched exploration of the intersection between neuroscience and criminal justice.
