James McCauley focuses his practice on criminal defense. He earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Management Information Systems from Pennsylvania State University in 2021. He received his Juris Doctor, cum laude, from the University of Florida Levin College of Law in 2025.
While in law school, he served as an editor for the Florida Entertainment and Sports Law Journal and competed on both the Alternative Dispute Resolution Team and the Florida Trial Team. He also received CALI awards in Criminal Law and Employment Law.
James gained experience as a legal intern for the Honorable Judge Susanne Wilson Bullard in Florida’s Eighth Judicial Circuit and as a Summer Associate at Bedell in 2024. After graduating from law school, he began his career as an employment law defense attorney in Tampa, Florida, before joining Bedell full-time in January 2026.
